Penang the Pearl of Orient

Day 1
Saturday
24th December 11'

It's Christmas eve! To Penang, away from the hustle & bustle city of KL. It was a long awaited trip that we've been planning for quite some time as a family. I was really glad that the boyf was able to join us. It was such a relief when he managed to apply couple days of leave for the trip. Thankgod for kind Uncle Sly's mpv or else daddy's car couldn't accommodate all 6 of us. The night before, boyf stayed over & we travelled first thing in the morning at 6.30am.
Reached Ipoh around 9am & had dim sum for breakfast at Fuh San

After a scrumptious breakfast, we continued of journey to Penang...
Midway...jeng jeng jeng jeng...
Disaster...
Uncle Sly's innova's air cond broke down..
It left us with no choice but to wine down the window..
Imagine driving on the highway with strong wind brushing through the car.. so noisy..
Finally, after 2 hours of drive, we reached Penang!
We headed toward Komtar area for the famous cendol as the heat was getting to us & the sun was scorching hot.. It was definitely hotter in Penang as compared to KL.

After that, we took a walk at the nearby Prangin Mall. It reminded me of Sg. wang or Times Square for that matter. Towards the evening, we made our way to Joo Hui cafe for a light bite. We had Asam Laksa, Chau Kueh Tiew & Rojak.
Not long after that, we left for baby's condo at Batu Ferringhi. That is where we'll be staying for the next 3 days. I was so anxious excited to see how the place looks like. Baby has been telling me so many stories about how nice his place was & finally now i've got a chance stay there. Thanks baby for the kind offer that me & family get to stay over at your condo. The place was well taken care of by his uncles and nicely decorated with Uncle Ad's gorgeous paintings. It was so cozy like a resort hotel room & constantly there were cold breeze flowing in. Indeed it was one of the best experience i've ever had staying in Penang.

The view from the balcony was breathtaking..
We were on the 19th floor. My legs were a little jelly when I've just step foot on the balcony

Uncle Ad's Gallery
Painted by Uncle Ad. These paintings would probably worth even more right now after he has left us. You'll always be remember by us

Night view from the balcony
Our balcony is overlooking the pool

Evening view from our corridor

And so it was time for dinner, we left for Straits Quay. A newly developed area apparently which is quite happening. It was pretty nice for a place to chill. We didn't stay for long & left looking for a place for dinner. Dad wanted to go over to Macalister Street for hawker food but unfortunately we got lost & made turns over & over again the same road. Everyone was so tired & fed up with dad's stubbornness. He finally gave up looking for that place & we finally managed to have dinner at 10.30pm. Sounds more like supper to me.

Day 2
25th December 11'

It's Christmas morning yo! We headed over to Pastor Daniel's place, dad's old buddy. He was kind enough to lend us his car for the time being because our current car has no air cond. Penang no air cond = suffocate & fried by heat. Soon after we left for Full Gospel Assembly Church for Christmas Service. Had lunch New World Gurney Hawker Ctr & shopping at Gurney Plaza.
In the evening, we left for Batu Ferringhi's Beach.

Here we are at Batu Ferringhi Beach..
The moment i've been waiting for. Been pestering my parents that I wanna visit the beach. haha
It's also our very first together on the beach

Piggie back by my love

The entire time I cling on to him very hard cause I didn't want to step foot on the ground. I couldn't what was below & I got really scared.

With 2 of my macho man :)

 With sis

Kissy shot & we left the beach :)

Rushed home to get ready as we've made an appointment with Uncle Charles for dinner. He's one of my relatives in Penang. He took us to Nonya breeze Desire for nonya delights. He was very generous & kept ordering dishes till we were full full.

With Uncle Charles & family

Later we part our ways with Uncle Charles & took a walk around Straits Quay.

Gorgeous christmas deco

Along the walkway in Straits Quay, there're beautiful yacht parked by the jetty

My family left us to pak tor. Not long after that, boyf's friend, Ah bee came over to join us for a drink since coincidentally he was back in Sg. Petani.

We were in library..

*cheersssss*

Took a walk & sat by the seaside overlooking penang bridge. The view was amazing. It was so romantic of us to lye by the rocks & count stars

Later that night, Ah bee dropped us home. Thanks Ah bee for coming all the way to join us.

Day 3
26th December 11'

Today's a very special day! It's our 1st Anniversary! :)
"Happy 1st Anniversary to my beloved hubbieboo"!
I had the best wake up call. He jumped on me & wrestled me on bed.
Baby, here's to many more years ahead of us. Thanks for being a tremendous boyf! You colour my pretty with rainbow colours. Can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Love you truck loads

First stop was to Ayer Itam for their famous asam laksa @ Jalan Pasar. Among all the asam laksa that I've tasted, this is by far the best one ever.

Mmmmmnyums. This is betul betul kawwwww! :D

After that, we headed over to Queensbay Mall.
In the evening, we went over to Tanjung Bungah's beach

My handsome boy

 Love you heaps, babyfoo!

Thank you so much baby!  I lurveee it

As for dinner, we didn't really had the privilege to dine out ourselves to celebrate our anniversary due to transportation constraints & complicating issue with the car. As a family we had a simple dinner at Tanjong Tokong's Hawker Ctr & the food was pretty good. They was a vast variety of choices & I would totally recommend the bento set over there. Who eat's bento set in penang hawker stall when you have all the asam laksa, chau kueh tiew, lobak & etc right? I'd tell you, they're so good & fresh. Totally recommended by my boyf. After dinner, returned the car to Pastor Daniel & took our car back. Thanks Pastor Daniel, your car served us well :)

Day 4
27th December 11'

Time to bid Penang Goodbye~~
Woke up at 530inthemorning. Packed up & left for KL. I bet y'all must be thinking why so early in the morning. All thanks to the car for its air cond not functioning so we decided to travel early in the morning when the weather's still cool or else we'll get fried in the car. We had a smooth ride home & reached KL around 12pm.

Indeed it was an incredible trip to Penang with baby & family. Had so much fun throughout the entire trip. A well spent christmas trip! Can't wait for more trips like this to come :)
